State Water Board approves Tier 1 variance to Humboldt Bay region for mandatory water use curtailment [1]

Due to the efforts of the management teams from Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District and McKinleyville Community Services District, their Board of Directors, the Humboldt County Supervisors and our state legislators, MCSD has been advised that it will be required to enforce a 4% reduction in water curtailment.

Since January 2015, our average monthly reduction has been at 13%, however conservation is still required and all requirements of the MCSD Water Shortage Contingency Plan Stage 2 [2]will remain in effect.

MCSD would like to thank our customers for their continued efforts to limit the waste of domestic water and continue to conserve.
