Helen Edwards, Director

From November 2007 through November 2015

I am a McKinleyville resident who is strongly committed to participating in and serving my community. I support protecting public funds through responsible fiscal management and I support protecting the public’s trust through reasoned and decisive problem solving. I have Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Accountancy from CSU, Sacramento; and Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Public Administration from USC. As a CPA, I audited non-profit organizations and small governmental agencies such as fire and special districts. I taught Accounting and Business classes at College of the Redwoods and was the division chair for vocational programs at the College. I have been active with the American Red Cross for over 30 years as consultant, disaster instructor and responder, and Board member. I am currently serving on the Humboldt County Red Cross Board of Directors, the McKinleyville Area Fund, and the RREDC executive and loan committees.

Dennis Mayo, President

From September 2008 through November 2013

Dennis was appointed to the Board on September 10, 2008 to fill a vacany with a term ending November 2009. He was then re-elected in November 2009 for another 4 year term. He is also a member of the Humboldt County Planning Commission, the Association of California Water Agencies Board and the Region 1 California Commercial Beach Fisherman's Association. He is a local rancher and he has been nominated to be a member of the Local Agency Formation Commission. He is active in the Pony Express Days, McKinleyville Rodeo Association, California State Grange.

John Corbett, Director

From October 2002 through November 2015

John was appointed to the Board in August 2002 to complete a term ending in November 2003. He has been re-elected and his current term ends in November 2011. He is a member of the Regional Water Quality Control Board and has been active in water quality issues for more than 30 years. He has been a lawyer in California since 1974.

David Couch, Vice-President

From November 2009 through November 2013

David currently works for the City of Arcata as a water/wastewater operator. He is involved with the Friends of the Arcata Marsh and the American Trakehner Association. He is also interested in environmental education, horse breeding and showing.

Bill Wennerholm, Director

Dr. Bill was first elected to the MCSD Board in 2001 and his current term expires in 2013. He served as Board President in 2005 and 2009.

Dr. Bill has lived and been a Chiropractor in McKinleyville since 2000. He is a 4th generation Californian and he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Human Biology and is a Doctor of Chiropractic. He is a member and past director of the Redwood District, California Chiropractic Association. He is a member of the Humboldt County Library Task Force and helped develop their 20 year plan. He has been the alternate MCSD Representative on the Redwood Region Economic Development Corporation since 2005. He has represented the MCSD on the Board of the McKinleyville Senior Center from 2001 to present. He served as president of the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce for 2008 and 2009. He has been certified as a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California since 2003 and through 2012. He has been the team Chiropractor for the Humboldt Crabs since 2008.
